Hello everyone. I’m Jessica and I’m a second year transfer student with a major in psychology. I grew up in Fallbrook (in San Diego county) and have also lived in Arizona, Japan, and Hong Kong (where I was born). My father’s work involved international business which is why my sisters and I were born out of the country. My mother was comfortable living outside the United States since she wasn’t even raised there; she grew up in Japan. Though I have been raised by a Japanese mother and thus exposed to the Japanese culture through her and our visits to Japan, most people would not be aware of that since I look fully Caucasian. I enjoy traveling and have been on Rotary Youth Exchange camps that have taken me to Denmark, Holland, Belgium, Germany, and Spain. I don’t watch much television because I find that if I begin watching a show, I end up watching that entire show, then the next show, and then several hours past and I find that not only have a I wasted time I could have used doing something more productive, but I also feel very lazy and sluggish. However, I enjoy watching The Office, and occasionally Law and Order SVU and House M.D. I am a registered under the American Independent Party and consider myself a moderate. I was raised in a Republican household in a rural town, yet as I grew up I found myself neither right winged or left winged in my political views, therefore I stay neutral for many political issues and not extremist on any issue. I was raised Roman Catholic and went through confirmation, yet now I do not attend church. There are many faults I find in the teachings on the Catholic Church which is why I am taking a break from religion. I also find faults in the teachings of extreme Christians that condemn all sinners to hell unless they repent and have God safe them. I find myself doing good because that is who I am, not because I am avoiding eternal damnation. I’m taking this writing class because, much like everyone else, it’s a requirement. The research part seems demanding but I believe if I keep up with the assignments I will do well in this class.

Thats interesting that you are a second year transfer student too. There aren't too many people who transfer into the second year, and it's always hard for me to explain to people that I transferred after one year.
I love traveling as well! You are so lucky to have been to all of those different countries. My dream for the future is to be able to travel everywhere. You must have some great stories!
Wow it must have been interesting getting to do so much traveling in your life. I always wished I had some really unique experiences and living in such different places probably gave you a lot of great experiences.
Wow! I think its great how you have traveled so much and lived in various places not only within the United States but also outside! I think its really cool that you did the Rotary Youth Exchange camps. When you lived in Japan and Hong Kong, did you attend an American school?
