About Me

Hey everyone!  My name is Briana Dajani and I am a first year student at UCI.  I was born in Manhattan, New York and lived in New Jersey for a period of time, then moving to Southern California at the age of six.  My family consists of my mom, dad, and two older sisters, one 23 and the other 21 and whom are my best friends.  My family is the most important part of my life and we are very closely knit.  Here at UCI, I am as of right now undeclared but I am considering either international studies or business economics as a major.  I am extremely interested in international affairs but I would also enjoy a career in business.  I am also looking to possibly minor in business economics.  Some activities of mine include cooking, reading, going to the beach and listening to all different types of music.  I also enjoy reading the newspaper and watching the news everyday because I personally believe that this is extremely important knowledge for everyone to have.  I also watch a range of television shows such as House, Law and Order, Family Guy, and The Office.  I also love to watch comedy movies and read novels having to do with different cultures.  Finally, if I had a super power, it would definitely be the power to fly.  One of my major passions in life is travel.  I want to travel around the world and experience the cultures of people throughout the globe.  The ability to fly would more easily allow me to accomplish this dream of mine.
Regarding politics, if I had to label myself it would most likely be liberal, although it is hard for me to define my political views.  I agree with some aspects of democrats as well as some ideas of republicans, yet I believe that in siding and labeling yourself as belonging to one political party causes further division, thereby not allowing ourselves to accomplish necessary tasks productively.  My political views have been shaped by numerous sources in my life such as my family and experiences.  My family has greatly influenced me, as we all seem to  have closely related views regarding politics.  I believe that family influence is inevitable because of the fact that the majority of one's time is spent with his or her family, communicating with one another.  Also, ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest in the injustices surrounding politics so I always try to inform myself about major current issues.  Another source of political growth for me is from my relationships with my friends because many of them have opposing views to my own.  Because political views are almost always closely in tied with strong emotions, this has allowed me to learn how to communicate my own views in a mature and respectful manner.

Hey Briana,

I think it's cute how your sisters are your best friends. I made a friend over this summer who was from New Jersey, and I might go there one day to visit her since she went back. Do you think you will go back there? I cook too, but not too well... The beach is definitely an awesome place to be... and "The Office"... it's funny, but we'll have to wait till the writer's strike is over eh?

Ok i'll see you in class.

I liked what you said about politics, it's hard to really label yourself with a certain party. I find the injustices in politics interesting too, since there are sooo manyyyyyy. I should get better at accepting different views though. :)
